Configuration

  • Exclusion of applications
  • This feature gives you the ability to exclude the applications you do not want to see for each workstation and in your reports
  • Configuration wizard
  • This wizard guides you step by step through the configuration of the application.
  • Options

    Display the configuration window :

    • Domain name : The name of the main group in the workstations list.
    • Change language : The language you want to use.
    • Data directory : The directory where the information files of produced by the Inventory Agent are located.
    • Inventory agent configuration : Add the applications on your network that are not showed in the Windows's "Add/remove programs" menu. For each special application, you will have to enter the name of the application and the path of the application's executable.
    • Expiration delay : The number of days after which a workstation is considered expired. An expired workstation is a workstation that has not been scanned for the specified number of days. A window appears when loading the program or when refreshing workstation's list to warn the user that some workstation are expired. An option allows the user not to be warned if the workstation is rarely rebooted as a server. This window also allow the user to delete the workstations that are no longer on the network.
    • List of all expired workstations : This button allow the user to see the list of all expired workstations. This option also show the workstations for which the user have specified not to be warned. This allow him to be warned again for those workstations.

Group

  • Add group

    If the user has selected the domain in the workstations list, this function add a sub-group to the domain. It is the same if the user has selected a sub-group of the domain. A sub-group is then added to this sub-group. If a workstation is selected, the group is added to the same level as the workstation.

    Tip :To add workstations to the group, select one or more workstations and drag and drop them on the group. The workstations will then be added to the group.

  • Rename group :
  • This option is only available when the user selects a group in the workstations list. It allows you to rename the selected group.

  • Delete group :

This option is only available when the user selects a group in the workstations list. It allows you to delete the selected group.

Warning : When deleting a group, all workstations within that group will also be deleted.

Search

  • Workstation name

    Allows searching for a workstation name in the workstation list.

  • Comments

    Allows searching for a comment in the workstation list.

  • Logged user

Allows searching for a logged user in the list. If a user is logged on more than one workstation, the first match is selected.

  • IP address

    Allows searching for an IP address in the workstation list.

  • MAC address

    Allows searching for an MAC address in the workstation list.

Reports

Allows report production for the entire domain of a sub-group.

  • Software
    • For each workstations

      Displays a software selection window. Select the softwares you want for the report and click on the -> button. This report lists one workstation per line and one software per column. X's are displayed if the software is installed on the corresponding workstation. A last line also shows the total for each software. The selected softwares are kept in memory to allow the user to produce reports on different groups without having to choose them each time.

    • For one software

      A report allowing the display of the workstations where a software is installed.

    • Total of each softwares :

      The list of all softwares of the domain or of a sub-group and the total of each of those softwares.

  • Hardware
    • Reports/Hardware/All workstations

      Displays a window that allows the selection of information to be displayed on the report (processor, ram, etc.) The report contains one workstation per line and one information per column.

    • Filter results :

      Displays a window allowing the selection of workstations by criteria.

      Exemple : All workstations with a processor faster than 200Mhz. When clicking on the OK button, a selection window is displayed, allowing to select the information to be shown on the report (processor, ram, etc.) The report contains one workstation per line and one information per column.

Tools

  • Export to Microsoft Access

    Allows exportation of the database to Microsoft Access. A save dialog allows you to enter the path where the file should be saved. The user can see the database after the exportation.


For a group or the domain

It is possible to add, rename or delete a group. See the main menu help.

It is also possible to produce the same reports as the ones produced with the main menu.

For a workstation

  • Export to Microsoft Excel
  • Allows you to export a workstation informations (hardware and software) to Microsoft Excel.

  • Modify comment

    Allows comment modification for the selected workstation.

    Note : The comment is saved locally because the Server Manager is no longer used..

  • Delete

    Allows you to delete a workstation.

    Note : It is suggested to delete a workstation with the graphical interface instead of deleting it directly from the data directory.
